Okay most of you know that I was reading the book called Cadian Blood by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. I finished it last week and it was a fantastic book. I was verry impressed with the way it was written. Now most of you also know that I have been here at Adepticon for the last few days... Well I got to meet Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Let me tell you this man is friggin awesome. He is a really nice guy I got him to sign my copy of Helsreach (not out until May) and Soul Hunter. I also had my picture taken with him. This I am very proud of even though I am not the most photogenic person in the world.

Ok guys... I promise there will be pictures once I get back home and get them off loaded from the camera, and I dont feel that I have a rush for time.

Me and Dad left for Chicago yesterday at around 5:30pm and we finally got in to Chicago this morning at 7am...ish. It was a fun and somewhat eventful trip up here and I discovered a few things along the way.

1. Black Library audio books are friggin sweet... we listened to the copy of Waiting Death that I won on the forums from Brother Grimm. So huge thanks to you sir if you ever read this. Though I will have to warn you that listening to it like 20 some odd times in a row cause we were to lazy to change the CD... not such a good idea.

2. In Missouri not only can you buy fireworks all year round (this I am very jealous of cause in Kansas we get less than a month) but you would also be amazed by the number of Adult Superstores there are along I-70... I mean holy crap... is that all there is to do in Missouri... blow shit up while watching a porno?

3. Also in Missouri they have some strange ass names for towns... Like Houstonia, Knob Knoster, and Licking... what the deuce man. What drunk bastard named these places.

4. Sleep deprivation can lead to weird conversations and massive fits of the giggles.

5. Do NOT drive in Chicago during morning rush hour... its kinda scary.

Thats all for now. I will keep everyone updated.

This is something else that I did up for dad. God I am such a good son. I painted and assembled this a while back for him so we could take it to the WWW in Colorado.

That was a fun weekend... really fast though. We left on the friday before. Gamed all day Saturday and then drove 8 hours back home Saturday night. We got in VERY early Sunday morning. We are not doing that kind of driving for Adepticon weekend... but more on that in a later post.

Dad-pod

This is one of dads drop pods that I helped him get painted up. Pretty much all I did was the hazard stripes and the U's on the out side of the doors. He did everything else.

This is for a client of mine. He asked me if I would paint up some Warmaster stuff and I told him I would give it a shot as I have never painted anything that small. And let me tell you... its not as hard as most people think it is. A whole blister of these guys painted up fairly quickly.

These are shots of the rest of the unit that was in that blister that I got from my client. I will be handing these back to him at Adepticon along with the rest of his commission that I did for him.
I figure he will be very happy with the way all of it turned out.

Wolf Characters

This is part of my ongoing Space Wolf update. I have been working on this version of my wolves since September. This is my Njal Stormcaller he is done all except for his base... and I am not baseing any of my wolves yet cause I cant decide how I want to base them.

Kinda hoping that I find some nice resin bases while I am in Chicago for Adepticon

This is my Lukas The Trickster model... the camera does not do his Wolf Claw justice. It actually is more of a contrast than what the picture shows.

Well let me start off by introducing myself and telling you all a little about me.

My name is Chris but I go by the screen name 'wolfy' on the 40k Radio forums and have been a Moderator over there for right around a year now. I have been playing games such as Warhammer 40,000 since 1994. Wow... 16 years now and still playing the same army all this time... I think that is dedication. But my army has gone through several incarnations over the years. Mainly as my painting skills have improved and the rules have changed. I am currently working on painting the 3rd version of the army. The first one sucked up by a tornado and the 2nd one was sold off to a fellow freeboota that wanted to have a Space Wolf army.

The main reason for this blog is for me to discuss my painting tips and color schemes and to show off what I am working on... not only for myself but for my painting service 2 Ton Studios. So as I work on stuff I will get some pictures snapped of them (they wont be the best as I am using the camera on my phone but I am working on getting a good camera), and then I will throw them up here with a little description of what I did.

Some might be a step by step... and then some of them will just be a before and after shot of what I am doing. Most of what I am going to post first will be finished shots of stuff that I have painted since last September.

So stay tuned and enjoy.
