Not sure what else to call this piece other than the "Dragon Sorceress". I do know that she is from the Reaper Dark Heaven line of miniatures. Now if you remember back a few weeks when I painted up that Bruce Lee looking piece for my Non Gaming client... this is another piece for her that she is going to put into one of her egg shell carvings.

I actually have a small pile of miniatures from several different companies that she has given me to paint up for her, this is just one that I really wanted to show off. In all honesty I welcome painting stuff like this every now and then cause it gives me a nice break from painting the same thing over and over... like space marines.

Actually this model is from the Reaper Chronoscope line his name is actually Chan Li... but I like to call him Bruce cause that is who this piece reminds me of.

So this is one of those models I painted a while back and I meant to give it as a gift to someone. Well I set him aside and forgot about doing some small touch ups on him. I was cleaning up my work area and I found him sitting there with a little dust collecting on him so I cleaned him up... re-did some of the paint and got him all ready to go. I am going give him to the person that I painted him for this time around... I promise you this.

So back to the old random model shelf again. This is the Astropath from the Imperial Guard. I got the pack that had this guy and a couple more different advisers in it for a commission. The asrtopath was not needed so he has been sitting here on my desk for a while now. So I finally decided to get him painted up. I really do love this model... but I have a question I want to ask... is it just me or does this guy look sorta like the emperor from Star Wars?

Painted these up finally got some pictures of them and figured I would share them. They are a Dark Angels Combat squad. Nothing fancy here really just thought I would make them look good. Learned a lesson though... put decals on THEN varnish... otherwise decals dont like to stick apparently.

And Continuing with the theme of random models... and Imperial Guard Commissar with a Power fist. Nothing fancy here... just another one of those models that I picked up because I thought he looked cool.

So after a nice little break of 3 full days without picking up a paint brush it felt kind a nice to get back to the old grind. So we continue where we left off in the quest to paint random figures laying around the studio. To which there are many. It really was a productive day with 2 more figures knocked out and 10 hours logged sitting at the painting table.

First up I have a Warrior Priest from the WHFB line. I really love the pose of this piece so I picked him up almost a year ago. I Figured that he would make a great painted piece to add to the "On the Shelf" collection. Well that is where he is going to sit for now... I might wind up having to sell him off later. But we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

These are some Adeptus Arbites that I painted up for a client. Painting these up for him makes me want to get another squad of them and paint them up just for the fun of it. They were a real joy to paint and it was nice to paint something other than Space Marines for a change.

This is something else that I did up for dad. God I am such a good son. I painted and assembled this a while back for him so we could take it to the WWW in Colorado.



That was a fun weekend... really fast though. We left on the friday before. Gamed all day Saturday and then drove 8 hours back home Saturday night. We got in VERY early Sunday morning. We are not doing that kind of driving for Adepticon weekend... but more on that in a later post.

This is for a client of mine. He asked me if I would paint up some Warmaster stuff and I told him I would give it a shot as I have never painted anything that small. And let me tell you... its not as hard as most people think it is. A whole blister of these guys painted up fairly quickly.


These are shots of the rest of the unit that was in that blister that I got from my client. I will be handing these back to him at Adepticon along with the rest of his commission that I did for him.
I figure he will be very happy with the way all of it turned out.
