Not much more to say about this other than the fact that he is the great white monster known as Beast...

After almost a week since I started it... I have finally finished my Gun Carriage.

Now all of this khador stuff has a purpose... And that is Adepticon... That's all I am saying about that.

I finally finished up my Khadoran Battle Mechaniks. I went ahead and based them with my very own top secret snow mix.

So I am taking a small break from 40k for a little bit so I don't burn out... so I figured that I would work on my khador since it all has to be done for adepticon in April. Now I know they come in a unit but I only have one done at the moment. So I figured I would post up a shot of him real quick from my iPhone before I got back to work trying to finish up the unit.

Going to use this post as a trial post and do something different and post from my phone as it does take decent pictures.

So I painted up sgt chronus yesterday and I wanted to get him posted up on here before I forget. The mounted version will be going on a Vindecator as soon as I get it all painted. It is the next item up for paint so maybe by the end of tomorrow.

So I just wanted to start off by saying that I love this codex and that in my personal opinion this has to be one of the most balanced codex we have seen in a while. This review is going to reflect my personal opinions on the codex.

So this is a new codex from Games Workshop (obviously) and it is long over due. It is written by Matt Ward. The codex has some really good fluff in it. Yeah a lot of it has changed and Matt Ward is kinda taking the Necrons in a new direction, but in all honesty I feel that it is the direction that they should of been going in from the beginning. Almost like the last edition of the book was a rushed after thought. If you do buy this book read the fluff at the beginning of the book... it will really give you some good insight to the race. As well as a few laughs here and there. In reading some of the fluff you get a sense that the Necrons are a very cunning and tricksey race. In one story you read how they give some orks some Doomsday Cannons and when the orks try to figure them out the orks and the planet just cease to exsist. In another you read how Trazyn the Infinite thanks Inquisitor Valeria for sending him some Catachans and in return he sends her a Tesseract Labyrinth.

Rules Changes

Well for starters... Gone are the days of Phase out. And thank God for that too. There was nothing worse than to be sitting on a couple of objectives and be forced to phase out because your army is reduced to less than 25% which causes you to lose the game.

Also "We'll be Back" has been changed to "Reanimation Protocols" and the Necrons get back up on a 5+ now.

They have a couple other new rules that I am not going to go into at this time because I dont want the IP hammer swinging in my direction.

The Codex has a whole slew of new units that are available to you to chose from Like Triarch Praetorians, Lychguard, Deathmarks, and even some new vehicles to chose from. There are also several named Characters to choose from. Most all of the old staples are back like the warriors and the immortals. Also back are the wraiths (with several cool upgrade options) and the gruesome Flayed Ones.

In the Paint section of the book it shows you several cool ways to paint the Necrons other than just drybrushing them boltgun metal and calling it good. If the studio can get its hands on a box of Necron warriors I will paint some up to show you some other options to show you as well.

All in all this is a VERY well written Codex. I am rather impressed with it. I am going to wrap this up for now and at a later date (probably later this week) I will go over some of the new units and how I see them as being useful.

Thats right folks... another month gone and a few more projects off the shelf. So lets start things off this month with a little bit of news.

Games Workshop announced that the Necrons will finally be getting a long overdue update and a whole bunch of new models. Look for the studio to be getting their hands on some of those gems after they get released. You can go HERE to watch a video that GW put out. As a former owner of a 'cron army I am thinking I might have another one in my future cause some of those models just look cool. Also from Games Workshop they have released a new hobby product called "Liquid Greenstuff", as soon as I can get my hands on a bottle of it expect to see a product review on it.

Adepticon is looming on the horizon and Registration just recently started... if you are wanting to get in on any of the 40k tournaments and haven't registered yet you might be to late already. Cause if I read correctly the Team event and the Championship are already sold out. 2 Ton Studios is planning on making an appearance at the event this time around but for the paint competition and Warmachine events. Being that yours truly is still a Pressganger... I will probably get roped into helping with something.

Secret Weapon Miniatures has a sale going on right now... 20% off Desert Themed bases. So hop on over to there and bug Justin to get your BASES.

So with the news out of the way lets jump over to a Studio UPDATE. The Studio had a slow month last month for commissions... only 1 small one and it was actually kinda fun it was an quick job for an Eldrad Ulthran for a guy in Scotland. Since that one came and went I have nothing sitting on the shelf for clients so if you want to get something painted shoot me an email with your request now so you can get on the calender. If I am not working on stuff for other people right now I am going to focus on working on 2nd Company of the Ultramarines. They are almost done now... or at least the troops are almost done. I am waiting to find out if I am putting lights in the Rhinos and Land Raider or not. Aside from that there is more work to be done on my Space Wolves and then there is always my Khador and my Malifaux stuff. My Orks have been reshelved because I am planning out something different for them. I am thinking about falling for the old "Nob Biker" list.

Also for the month of November (to try to generate some business) I am going to have some special paint rates. These will not be posted up so if you want to get something painted up just shoot me an email to get a quote and you will get the special rates.

One more thing... to the jerk that mentioned that I should watch Breaking Bad on AMC... and give it my usual 5 show test (if after 5 shows I am still not hooked then I can stop watching it)... I hate you... I am past the first season and half way into the second season.
