So I am just about thinking about making this a monthly special thing here in the studio. It always seems that I get this itch to raid the bits box and build a random model just to say that I can... and what else are these random bits gonna do... collect dust.

So in this episode... (see what I did there) I decided to build a Blood Angel. Now these bits actually didn't come out of my current Space Marine bits box. I actually got a bunch of Sanguinary Guard bits from my Trollkin client. I wanted to wait until those models were all painted and sent back before I messed with the bits. So I decided to finally investigate what all there was in the bits and as it turns out there was enough parts to actually build a whole model. So I am calling this guy a random captain for my upcoming Blood Angels project. He is probably going to serve as a test model for how I am going to paint my Blood Angels.

And he needs a name...

So in my boredom I decided to go back and raid the bitz boxes again. This time though I went to the IG boxes... yes I have so many bits I have started to separate them by army. Anyway I built a random Guardsman for the heck of it... also because I am in talks with a possible client about what colors he wants on his Imperial Guard Alliance. So this is where we started. The paint job is inspired by some Elysians,with a few artistic changes on my part.

Hey gang, I am happy to announce that I finally had the chance to get the Lone Wolf painted up that I built from spare parts in my Space Wolf bits box. Now this model still needs to be based but he is going to be finding his way into a friends army.

I know there are a bunch of you fellow gamers out there that play 40k and you have boxes upon boxes FULL of random bits. Have you ever wondered what all you could do or how many more models you could make to integrate into your army. Well yesterday I go to thinking that I know I have some regular Space Marine legs left over in one of my many bits boxes. So I decided to go raiding. And after poking around in my marines bits box I came up with all the random pieces to build a new Lone Wolf for a friend. It is amazing what all can be found in a bits box. Hell I am betting that if I went through my Imperial Guard box I might be able to build a small platoon, and in my Chaos box I know I can build 2 maybe 3 squads of guys.

So here is my Lone Wolf bits box special...

I just need to throw some primer on him and get him painted... give me something to work on this weekend while I watch some football games.
