So this week has been spent painting and getting my trio of Sanguinary Priests done. One you have already seen and one was that Captain that I built out of bits... well I popped his arms off and gave him some apothecary bits and turned him into Sanguinary priest number two. So since I have a thing about not having two infantry models that look the same I chose to use Brother Corbulo as the third and final Sanguinary Priest. Now I have no intention of playing him as Corbulo because you cant give Corbulo a jump pack and I need him to have a jump pack to keep pace with the squad I am going to attach him too...
Anyway just in case I decide to play him as Corbulo I put a magnet in his back so I can swap back and forth between a jump pack and his Apothecary back pack.
Hey gang... time for an update as to what I have been up to in the studio since I posted up the last of the Death Company. Well thats simple really, I have been working on a Baal Predator for my Blood Angels... but not just any Baal Predator... a Baal Predator that lights up. Thats right my friends I managed to get my hands on a lighting kit and some fiber optic from our friends over at Powered Play gaming and I set about lighting up and painting this little terror. This is the first time that I have taken on this challenge and I feel it was rather successful.
I am still working on my review write up for the lighting kit so keep an eye out for that in the next few days.
Like in the last post I made I said I finished off the Death Company squad I was working on. I just finished the last guy fairly late so I didn't get pictures of the whole squad so that was the first thing on the schedule in the studio today. Next thing... start on a product review.
And this my friends makes 5 of 5 Death Company guys. Overall I like the way that the models turned out. Now I just need to get the their Razorback done up... that is as soon as I can get that blasted door set.
Only one more guy to go in this squad, then on to their transport... that is if I can ever get my hands on a set of Forge World Death Company Rhino doors. I had a deal worked out for a set of doors as a trade but the person that I was going to trade with flaked out on me. So I think that I might just have to break down and order a set.
Got another member of the Death Company painted and ready to go. Just two more left for this squad.
Death Company guy number 2. Slight difference in the way the red was done... same colors different technique. I am still not 100% on the over all tone of the red but I do like it. I think it still needs a little tweak.
The first Blood Angel I have painted in a while and he just so happens to be one of my Death Company guys. Over all I am really happy with the way that he turned out... though I am still trying to tweak the red a little so I can get it the way that I want. Figured since these guys have a lot less red on them over the regular Assault Marines in the army I would use these to get the red just right before I start on them. So if there is a little difference in the red over the next few models thats why. And yes I am thinking about painting all 5 of them one at a time and posting them up that way... at least until I get the colors the way that I want.
I also have to give a thank you to Mr Justin over at Secret Weapon again because I do really love the Ruined Temple bases.
