I got another pair of models done for my portfolio over the weekend. I only have a few more that I really want to get finished up before next weekends photo shoot. So this thing is really happening and it makes me all kinds of excited to finally be getting this done. and not that I am getting it done I am just that much closer to accomplishing my dream.

Now for the models... the funny thing about this duo is that I just painted them up for a client so he could have them in time for GenCon and also my gaming buddy and studio mate is also in the process of painting up his Aiyana and Holt to add to his Cygnar. So this duo is really popular right now.

Now for Lady Aiyana's hair... this is the first time I have tried something like this so let me know if you like it or if I should change it.

So I have been slightly sidetracked from my Khador yet again... well sort of. I am painting up some models and spending a little extra time on them making them look really good. I am trying to get some models done up for my portfolio. Yes back to that project again. I want to finally get one put together so I can start getting it sent off to different companies cause you just never know when you might get a job offer or an offer for some freelance work.

Now you may be asking why I am spending all of my time painting up Privateer Press models for my portfolio... well thats simple actually. I love the way that the models look. I think they have great detail and they give a painter a great chance to shine. Now I do have to tell you all that these are not the pictures that will be used for my portfolio. They are just pictures to show you all what I am working on. When my portfolio is ready I might think about putting it up here.

This marks the third Gorman that I have painted since I started playing Warmachine, granted one of those was my Pirate Gorman that I got for being a pressgang member. Anyway this is another one of those models that was part of that Khador commission that I really wanted to post up and share with you guys.

Here is another model from that Khador commission that I just finished up. The overall theme of the army has not just red buy also has something purple on each model to tie them all together. On this model instead of painting her cloak and cowl in greens I decided to leave it black and highlight with the purples.

Hey gang first off I want to thank everyone for the kind word on how the wip on the conversion of this model went. I finished him up the other night and immediately started on the next one that I want to work on but I am going to take a short break from the Bokur project for a few days so I can paint some models for one of my local clients.

But first... here are some shots of the finished Bokur.

The moment I finished up the Ravenwing commission project I was trying to decide what I wanted to work on next. I knew I wanted it to be one of my personal models since it has been a couple months since I painted something of mine. Then it was a hard decision as to which project I wanted to work on the most caue I have Trollbloods, Convergence, and Khador all needing attention at the moment. So I narrowed that down real quick because my Khador needs some love cause I ned to get them bac in the win column as it has been a while since I won with them. Granted I have had a couple of very very narrow losses where the dice just died right when I had an easy roll like needing to roll a 8 on 3d6 and rolling a 7.

So since I had narrowed things down to wanting to work on my Khador more than anything else at the moment the next thing I had to figure out was what project in that army did I want to work on the most. Well some of you know that I am wanting to get more models done up for my portfolio and I wanted to show off some conversion work as well as good painting skills, I decided that since I am going to be adding an Ogrun Bokur to my Khador army anyway why not take some inspiration from NQ54 where they took 3 Bokurs and converted them for the different factions he can work for.

Now my inspiration started with the swapping the shield and shoulder pads and cutting down his spear and replacing it with the Spriggan spear just like they did in the article, BUT I decided to go with all warjack parts instead of using Man-o-war parts. I use shoulder pads from the Berzerker and the shield also came from the plastic Spriggan just like the Lance. In the article he also gives the por Bokur a stupid fuzzy hat that the Khadorans are known for wearing. Personally I hate the fuzzy hat and I think that no self respecting Ogrun would be caught dead wearing one. So I did not give mine the fuzzy hat. After following the instructions in the article he was very easy to assemble and make the proper switches.

Now in the pictures the shield and shoulder pads are just being held in place by putty. And I have since taken them back off so I can prime and paint the model. I am hoping that I can make him look good enough for my portfolio of work.

Also coming up after this IF I like the way he turns out I am going to be doing up his brothers that work for Cryx and Cygnar as well. Just have to wait and see.

So this past weekend we had a Steamroller tournament at the FLGS and I was approached by one of the guys in the tournament if the studio was still taking commissions, and would I be interested in painting up Alexia for him to put in his army. So of course that is a big yes, and he handed over the piece and after the tournament I sat down in the studio and got started cleaning up the piece.

Now I have to ask... is it just my luck or is it PP and their cavalry pieces really bad about gaps? I spent a fair amount of time filling in gaps on the mount and then got it attached to the base with pins in the feet. I was pretty much given free reign on how to paint the piece with one request from the client which he wanted her to have red hair instead of black. But for the most part I kept to the way that PP painted her up cause I liked the way it looked.
